Pre-registering for this course notifies work2future that you intend to take this course if it is offered. Courses will be offered provided a sufficient number of currently enrolled customers have pre-registered their interest. Final registration for courses will be conducted through a work2future training specialist.

Course Description:  San Jose City College and Workforce Institute courses included in the program.

This program is designed to prepare you for a career in water utilities.  In this comprehensive training program you will learn the principles of operation and maintenance of a water distribution system and water treatment plant.  The water distribution course covers sources of water, principles of design, installation, operation and maintenance pipes, pumps, valves, meters and other related hydraulic units.   Operation and maintenance safety considerations emphasized.  The water distribution course is designed to prepare you to take the State of California, Water Distribution Operator exam.  Students taking the D1/D2 exams at the end of the course are liable for the appropriate fee.

The water treatment course is designed to teach you the principles of water treatment plant operations.  The course will cover sources of water, the treatment process, plant operations, safety, water quality regulations and waterworks Math.  The course is designed to prepare you to take the State of California, Water Treatment Operator exam for grades I & II (T-1 & T-2).  Students taking the T-1/T-2 exams at the end of the course are liable for the appropriate fee.  A Workforce Institute Certificate of Completion will be awarded upon successful completion of the program.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:00pm-9:00pm, for 14 consecutive weeks.
